Life's too short to take out the USB safely !!

Just when i thought there is nothing to worry in this world but for my poor-attendance and my father's lectures :D there comes along a brave warrior and his damsel in distress :D:D to ruin the day for us !!
Eve-teasing ... Mental harassment !! OMFG ! Seriously ... and whats the proof ? the girl's word !! how unfair ... there's also the dumb headed biased VP who by-the-way is trying to suck up to the girl's father (also a doctor) !!
I needed a 20,000 watt speaker set to yell " ENDA CHAATA ?" !! :D
So to all those people who fuss about the little things in life , man dont give a damn !! Truly , Life's too short for it !
PS : Decency and Dignity are a rare commodity these days !!

The Woes Of A Left Hander ..

In terms of division of labor between both the hands im the most unusual person i know of :D !!
I eat with Left (often end up using both :D ) .
Bat and bowl with right.
Write with left.
Erase with right :D.

OF all the above :P, People are so damn fascinated by the left-hand-eating-thing ... They look as if i had suddenly sprouted the 'left' hand for eating . I mean, i didnt go around collecting statistics and all, but there are people who eat with left hand , arent they ?? Or am i the only dick on this planet who licks his left hand after a meal ?? :D

With as minimum courtesy as possible, while im busy eating, someone or the other pucca throws the million dollar question ... Which hand do you use for ... ahem ahem :P ... think u might have guessed it by now ... And you should see their faces while waiting for the answer ... totally comical ... As soon as i say 'right hand' bam goes the excitement from the faces ... i mean ... what the fuck, thats gross , how can one even expect that ... Some look astonished ~ "ayya, auna ... NIJANGANA !!! " ... Some eye me suspiciously as if i have just put on some lie to cover my 'Dark secrets" ... Some are disappointed [HOLD ON] OMG !! Astonishment and Suspicion toh i can handle, but Disappointment !! seriously ... thats the limit ... Lol !! :D

Every person who has ever fractured one of his/her arm severely must have went thru a phase like this temporarily ... the first thing that springs up in the minds of on-lookers is "Etla manage chesthado ento, papam" :P !!

Wikipedia quotes ~ "For centuries, left-handers have suffered unfair discrimination in a world designed for right-handers."
Thats serious ... whats more ... I got to learn that there is a Left-hander's-day ... On August 13th !! Amazing !

My mother has got me into the habit of using cutlery while eating early on, saved me from head-to-toe embarrassment a lot of times ... still there are instances when all the spoons and forks in the world play hide and seek with you , thats when you have to eat like an inferior ... what with all the right-handers surrounding me , i feel so insignificant and miniscule ... the majority always looks normal ... its the 'unique' thats weird :D !!

My grandma was so shocked when she first saw me eating with 'my' hand, she put a bandage to my left palm for a week ... so that i would inculcate 'proper' eating ... Imagine my discomfort ... atu thinaleka, akali apukoleka ... scylla and charbydis would've been easier to face :D ! An old lady in the mess(Longterm days) used to say "Kudi cheyyi devudichindi babu, daanthone thinali ... edama cheyyi thoti thinte paapam tagulthadi" ... Navvalo edvalo artham kadu . Now suddenly i had become a sinner ... :P

The saga of lefty-woes continues ... wonder how many more people i have yet to face ... god save me ... and finally to finish it off Ill recapitulate a joke Our zoology sir used to crack before starting the 'digestion and absorption' chapter ... "Digestion is a process that starts with the Right hand and ends with the Left" .. I used to smile, thinking ... 'Not always sir' :D:D !!

Cricket ~ Our Dope !

" Jaan bhi denge, khoon bhi denge .... Desh ki Izzat kabhi na denge "

Only two things make people go crazy in this Country ~ Mother sentiment and Indian Cricket :D ! It was exhilarating watching India thrash Australia out of the world cup contention on Thursday's night ... History was written ... God bless the Men in Blue ... As the match was coming to an end, with Every passing moment and with each delivery the "it-would-be-awesome-if-we-win" feeling was increasing fervently !!

Early on, my blood curdled when Shaun Tait was sledging Tendulkar ... A shitty newcomer was taking on the God of Cricket ... I could have killed him ... No one points a finger at my Nations 37 year old Pride and gets away with it ... Sehwag was quick to retort, at the non-strikers end ... The Indian players were perfectly poker-faced ~ Dhoni, Sachin, Yuvi ... They let the game speak, very hard to implement ... we did it ... we kicked some fine ass ... We sent back the Mighty Australians to their home ! This is Australia's dirty way of getting to opponents in Tight must-win situations ... Sledging was in the air ... they taunt ... they make fun ... they scowl ... they glare ... this manages to mindfuck people in 99% of the situations ... Thankfully not this day :) ...

The Image of Yuvraj roaring after the win mirrored every Indian soul at that precise moment ! Nothing can beat this, as picture perfect as it can be !

I could feel it in my veins ... the tension, the humiliation, the image beating we would take if we lost this match ... the knockouts are nerve wreckers ... one match, one chance ... The 2003 Final was hanging around like a nightmare ... But it was a Happy story against the kangaroos ... We were up to the mark ... We proved our mettle ... The whole world seemed a fine place ... we were winning, nothing else mattered ...

I was watching the match at a local pub someplace ... the feeling of patriotism Ive witnessed is Unmistakable ... every single run was cheered ... people were shouting their throats off ... Being truthful, India as a democracy is an utter disaster... We are a clockwork of population all working towards a wrong end ... This might seem bleak to listen to, but the truth my dear friends is never acceptable ...!! People of India are not complacent with anything, be it their lives or the situations they are placed in ... Nothing is gonna satisfy us ... this might seem rehashed, but if there is one thing that unites this Nation, Its definitely cricket ! We take pride in our Team India . And the day our Team wins, Everything is bliss ... We watch their success and we feel completed . The differences between people dissolve as soon as we win ... Happiness knows no bounds ... nearly hundred billion people put away all their worries and struggles and lift their hands to applaud their Team . A feat nothing in the World can achieve .

As expected People were cheering left and right ... slogans like "Dhak dhak Go, India Go" ... "Jeetega bhai jeetega, India jeetega" were echoing throughout . Some guys brought an Indian flag to the pub, waved it in front of the screens for almost half an hour ... My heart swelled at that point . My country felt like the best one on this planet ! Maybe because i was high, didnt matter to me anyways . I was witnessing a feat that my generation was proud of . We were on a hugging spree(only boys of course :P:D) ... Ramana wasnt satisfied with a single round , he went on eagerly for the second round :D !The ride back to my hostel was an awesome feeling ... Screamed at each and everyone that we saw ~ "Anna India Jeet gayi" :D ... An off-note here, of all the people we screamed at, we got the best responses from the younger lot ... Youth really rocks, got to agree :D ... Tankbund was filled with groups of bikers with Indian flags and awesome fireworks ... Air sweeping through ur hair at high speeds ... the contented feeling of an awesome win ... ah !! What else could i have asked for ... !!

All the very best to 'My' team for the semis against Pakistan ...!! Indiaaa .... Indiaaa !! :D

Passing 1st MBBS !

"I tried to be perfect
It just wasn’t worth it
Nothing could ever be so wrong
It’s hard to believe me
It never gets easy
I guess I knew that all along ..."
~ Sum 41 .... Pieces ...!

Well ... Its been a long time since the tears of anger outside the Principals office ... Its been a tough 6 months ... Very awkward watching all our batch mates move on in the MBBS course. We were just sitting ducks, clueless as to what GOD has planned with our lives . Miserable, very very Emotional, trying periods ... phew !! Glad its over !!

It was like a running race with an initial strength of 200 ... Princy holds back thirty odd of them and lets the other people go on with their race(with a random reason of his - Attendance) ... Feels bad, really really bad ... The finish line is now imbalanced ... The hurdles have been Misplaced ... We are now mostly by ourselves academically ... Its not like I approve of absenteeism ... Blame my lack of attendance on dull lectures(most of which are not one bit enlightening) and seniors who used to exclaim "Arei, Nuvvu classes ki kuda pothunnava??" and laugh at me as if that was the biggest joke on the planet. Naturally, an immature brain like mine thought classes were not an important part of Medicine .... hey, but what the hell ... the previous batches were allowed to write the exam with as low as 20% attendance ... So why crack the whip on us ??
This was the period when i found the song I could really use a wish right now totally awesome !! :)

Our Physiology HOD said this to my father during that detaining episode " In my MBBS days, i used to study by myself, No classes, No Labs ... I was my own teacher ...!! " ... I wonder what would have happened if Mr. Siddappa was his princy :D ... And im still surprised how he has detained his students given his glorious regularity and dedication towards attending class lectures ... Hypocrisy is a gross Understatement ... !!

Missing a lot of things ... Big, Noisy classrooms being the prime one ... Its very testing to be singled out and punished ... that too by an Old retard who thinks he must bring some change in the college by setting up our punishment as an example to the rest of the college ... an example that has tested every bit of moral strength and patience we had, an example that crashed all our dreams, an example which made us socially obsolete until we got through the exams, an example that has labeled us as Referred forever ... I mean the 'forever' wala forever :D !!!

Being Referred is a taboo In the Medical colleges ... During my first year, I had no proper idea regarding that ... Some seniors told about how being referred was a total disgrace ... The Idea just grows onto us, we start seeing things the same way, we start thinking the same way, We start believing the same way ... We dont blink twice before we form a low opinion about a referred student ...!! The other day, I was trying to get involved in a conversation regarding Maternity hosp. Postings ... I asked a guy who used to be my classmate if he had seen the new-borns in the Labor ward ... that Insensitive Idiot ... he said ... " Arey, when you dont know something first clarify it ... its not Labor ward ... its Labor room " ... I was like "what is the main reason that i just got slapped in my face for no fault of mine??" ... the image of a bald headed idiot sprung from nowhere ... and i was like BINGO :D !!

The weeks before the exam were mentally exhausting(pretty much, Yeah) ... Too much pressure to handle ... My peers from the regular batch used to play basketball, watch movies, Have tons of gossip ... Its very difficult not to hate the principal ... Sleep was a comfort we could not afford ... Days and Days of no proper sleep ... the winter was at its peak at around the last week of December ... Freezing cold !! Warm beds and blankets were beckoning us ... We put up numerous bonfires outside the reference room to beat the cold ...

No Christmas , No New Year ... Big sacrifices at this stage of my life ... I really should mention this ... Our exams started on Jan3rd ... My friends from the hostel Canceled all the Party programs for the New year(31st eve) and went back home ... Its very hard not to party, truly VERY hard ... They didnt want to create a tempting atmosphere ... In that regard they succeeded ... 2K9 partying was a minimum ... Ill remember this Touching gesture for the rest of my life ... They didnt have to give up enjoying, just because we were not able to ... they were free to party at will ... still they did NOT ... Love u people ... Sreepathi, Pavan, Pramod, Chintu brothers, Saketh, Amar, Prudhvi, Raghu, Kireeti, Gampa, Sarat, RaviTeja, Yaki, Baagi, Yashu, Rahul ... Each and everyone ... Its like You stood by Us through Your Absence (Ive been telling this for a while, that absence is the best way to tackle with life at times ) ... Cheers to all the chichas who were concerned about us ... !! \m/

Tension was mounting like Koti's rush hour traffic ... People were skeptical about our success ... Whispers used to fly around as soon we step into the reference rooms ... We were the "punished" ... Some idiots used to laugh, some used to stare, some used to sympathize, some used to motivate us ... Humiliating incidents occurred in plenty , thats when we found a funny habit of introducing our batch as 2K9 and 1/2 ... Prateek - 2k9 and 1/2 ... Has a funny ring to it, Dont u think ?? :D .. What else could we do ... Laugh at ourselves .. "Self-depreciating humor is truly the best accepted form of humor"(now thats my own quote ... dont go on googling it to check whether its original or not :P) ...

Gallons of Chai was consumed ... booming business for "Modern times cafe" , "Hotel grand" and "MGBS Bus station" ... Irani Chai with Osmania biscuit was the delicacy of the moment then ... Every morning 4am. Chai was utmost necessary ... Me, Fazil, Sachin, Ramana, Naresh were a regular lot ... Our study group was fun ... Brief periods of study punctuated with gaps of fun filled satires and comments ... the most common satire was "Portion over ?? Appude ... mmm ... inkendi !!" :D:D ... Repetitive, childish, yet entertaining ... people have different ways of reacting to this kind of taunting ... We came across many people in this process of 'night-outing' in the reference room ... Interesting people, dont even know most of their names ... but a smile to say "hi" was enough to greet them on a daily basis ... small naps of ten mins or so were quite common ... Before taking such naps we used to tell 3 or 4 different people to wake us up ... might seem silly , the thought of oversleeping and missing out on reading time is frightening ... Now i understand the quote written on our Tenth standard blackboard ~ "Time and tide wait for none" ... Life has found a way of teaching me this in 3D ... :P !!

The thought of failing was terrifying(far-fetched but terrifying nevertheless) ... I wouldn't go into much detail about others ... but i used to shit in my pants ... I used to have nightmares ... Frayed Nerves ... On the examination day, Its like your entire Life is hinged upon your performance ! Suddenly FAITH finds a lot of customers, Every student promising his/her GOD something or the other ... I did that too ... My bribe to GOD was 'attending church every Sunday, praying every night' :D:D ... Its hard not to notice quite a few bald heads after the results :P:D

People think " They've had 6 extra months, What the hell did they do ... If i was in that situation i would have aimed for Gold medal ... "
Its hard to be motivated academically when you are being punished for something else ... Our HODs didn't back us when we needed them the most, We found that no one had the guts to say NO to the princy ... I mean, each and everyone of the staff has gone through the first year of MBBS, didn't they fucking notice how hard it is to be Referred ?? ... Its easy to comply with someone, rather than stand up against such ruthless acts ... I respect Mrs. Rajashree's attempt to fight for our cause with the Princy ... She was the only Professor who found detaining students as absurd ... Salute Madam !

Well , what has happened ... has happened ... We look forward to better times ... Remember that Life isn't fair with everyone ... That there are a group of kids among you who have been hurt by harsh measures ... That they emerged victorious ... That their victory is sweeter than anything your imaginations can ever, EVER reach !!

Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part.
